MADHOUSE  MUSE

For this show segment, the Madhouse Muse team visited Bergamot Station, an art gallery complex, located in Santa Monica, CA.

Built in 1875, the site was formerly a Red Line trolley depot.  When the trolley cars stopped running in the 1950s, it went through various permutations as a celery packing plant, ice-making plant, and a factory for manufacturing water heaters before it was converted to its present incarnation as one of Los Angeles’ premier cultural centers.

Opened in 1994, Bergamot Station houses over 30 galleries.  Our team at Madhouse Muse spent two days visiting every corner of the campus.  It was a difficult choice, given so many wonderful galleries, but we finally narrowed it down to the four exhibitions we present here:

(Click on the links below)

Part 1 - Elias Sime’s “Eye of the Needle, Eye of the Heart”

Part 2 - Samuel Freeman Gallery - “No One You Know” by Blue McRight

Part 3 - Latin American Masters - New work by Fernando de Szyszlo

Part 4 - Zadok Ben David’s “Blackfield”
